Amanda is here!

7.14.2012

I am so unbelievably flattered that Tiffany has asked me to guest post for her. She is one amazing woman I have enjoyed getting to know her in the past month.
I'm Amanda and my husband's name is Trevor. I blog over at We & Serendipity. I write of lifestyle, delicious recipes, ideas, and experiences.

Tiffany has asked me to talk about my love story!  I like to think of the way we met as sweet serendipity rather than a coincidence. I believe God purposely puts two people together who are completely unaware of what his plan is...but that is kind of the beauty of it all!

I dedicated three and a half years of my life to a boy who treated me terribly. He was very emotionally abusive, tore me down, and criticized me for everything. Only my family saw the true side of him. But my friends adored the guy to pieces and in all reality..I only believed my friends. Stupid girl? Yep.

Mr. Schroeder was serving an LDS missionary when he became close with a sister missionary he served around. . . which happened to be my sister. I sent her pictures of myself and the rest of my family. Mr. Schroeder would always say to my sister, "I'm going to date her when I get home. You're going to set me up with her." When he got home, there was a girl waiting for him that was..well..pretty in love with him. They dated for a few months until Mr. Schroeder broke her heart. He just wasn't feeling it.

The same time period he broke up with her, my boyfriend and I ended things. Pheww! Mr. Schroeder texted my sister attempting to pursue this "girl" he had seen pictures of on his mission. My sister called me up and asked me what I thought of the idea. I was completely bothered at the idea and not wanting to meet any guys. "I hate boys...but I'll give it a shot I guess."

Mr. Schroeder came and picked me up to go on a date. Many laugh at the idea that I knew he would be my husband the second I laid eyes on him. Something told me that but I was way too scared to admit it. All six room mates of mine {except one} were so rude, selfish, and inconsiderate when I met him. They would keep saying, "He's just your rebound..." I am still having a hard time forgiving a certain girl who has never understood me and probably never will.

On the bright side...

The rest was history. We were engaged seven months later and married four months after that. He is the most sincere, humble, hard-working, handsome man I have ever met. I love him dearly and would give my life for him. I can honestly say that "Love comes for you when you least expect it."
