I have started a new routine where when I get up with Baby Bear every morning I start the water for my morning tea, get S's breakfast ready and turn on PBS kids, take Piggy out, and then I sit down and start doing a little blog reading while I drink my morning tea! I have only been doing the morning blog reading for a couple of days now, but today my Bloglovin account is caught up. I don't think that has ever happened!!! (If you aren't following me on bloglovin you can do so here since GFC should be going away soon)
When I was reading through blogs this morning I happened across a new one that I immediately fell in love with and had to start following. Chloe at Rainbows & Honeysuckle just seems so real in her posts! I always love that because when your REAL in your blog I feel like I can relate to you and if we connect then I feel like a friendship could grow.
The first post that I read of hers was today's post about sleep. Last night she went through a little of what I went through for 2.5 years with S. Her little boy woke up several times through the night and then was ready to go at 6am and reading that post just sent me down memory lane.
For those of you that are new here, S has never been a big sleeper. From the night that she was born we were always up several times a night and then we would be up for good some time between five and six am. Six was the latest we ever slept for such a long time. Nothing we tried got her to sleep through the night. Eventually I just got used to it. I still complained, but I was used to it.
Then that heavenly day where she decided that she would sleep through the night happened. I was ecstatic! There is nothing like sleeping through the night for the first time in a couple of years. She did it for about a week...and then we moved and she started waking up all through the night again. Luckily it only lasted for a couple more months and we got to feel that heavenly feeling every morning when we woke up for the first time at 6 am again.
We have now been sleeping through the nights almost every night for a year or so. But we still wake up around the same time, between 6 and 6:30, every morning. Now I kind of like it. I have my little routine, but I sit there and watch her eat breakfast and I notice how much has changed and how much she has grown, yet some things still stay the same.
We still wake up around the same time. But now there is no monitor waking me up. Instead she crawls out of her bed, walks into our room, comes up to my side of the bed, and personally wakes me up every morning. Who needs an alarm?!?! Sometimes there are morning cuddles, but more often there are not because the little punk never lays still. We still watch our cartoons over breakfast like we have always done, but now afterwards she just goes off playing.
My little girl is getting so big and growing up so fast. Sometimes I miss her being a baby, but mostly I love this stage that we are in as a family.

Aww! I love this, glad I inspired you! :) Routines are great, it's so nice knowing what to expect everyday. :) I'm so glad she's sleeping better for you now!! A whole year almost of sleeping through the night sure does sound heavenly. :)
