a lazy day in

Today was one of those lazy days in. I literally spent the entire day in my pajamas and I am 1000% happy with that.
Yesterday we had a third birthday party to attend for Baby Bear's friend Aaliyah. We are friends with her parents so it was a great and full day!
So today we woke up and were relaxing. Kiddo watched cartoons while cuddling with me and I watched Grey's Anatomy and did a little work. Then we did lunch and nap, while I did some more work. The whole time we are all still in our pajamas. Then when she woke up from her nap we snacked and watched an animal show on netflix.
Then dinner time rolled around and we let the little chef make pizza. She was so proud of herself and it turned out pretty well. I love letting her help with dinner. Tomorrow we are making pasta together.   After she finally ate her 1 small piece if pizza we had her a hot bubble bath going and let her know that there was a surprise waiting for her when she got out. So we pulled her out of one pair of jammies, gave her a bath, and put her into another pair of jammies.
Then we went into the living room and Papa Bear had the surprise ready to go. IT WAS MOVIE NIGHT! The movie if the night was BRAVE. We loved it! She sat in my lap and watched the whole thing from start to finish with the lights off. Then when the movie was over she turned around, looked at me, and said " Mommy, please don't turn into a bear!". It seriously melted my heart. I love that little girl more than I ever imagined possible.
I feel great after a day like today. I got in a ton of work on a huge business design and a personal design, AND (here is the most important part) I made sure that I had a ton of quality family time. This is something I have ti try to remind myself to do regularly. Almost everyone that I design for is a parent. So they totally understand when I take a break to do family things. But I always feel like if I am home I should be working. This is a bad mindset to be in because I am ALWAYS home and I am not very good at balancing. But it is something I am working on. Today I had more cuddles than I have had in a while and it made both of us happier.
Today was seriously a great day!!!

ps. I promise I haven't forgotten about the blog lately! I have just been doing a lot of working so there hasn't been much to post about. But I have opened baby bear's blog back up.
