I have been sitting here for the last 10 minutes trying to figure out how to start this post.
So here goes, I'm just going to throw it all out there!
So here goes, I'm just going to throw it all out there!
When I started this journey (almost two weeks ago) I was 165 lbs. I am 5'1" and naturally curvy. So every pound that I gain looks like 5 because I am so small. Two weeks ago I hit my breaking point and found myself disgusted with photos of myself.
So the very next day I started using MyFitnessPal to track EVERYTHING that I eat OR drink! I also started using runkeeper to go out and do some coached runs until my appointment to join the gym. (did you know runkeeper offers a couch to 5k coaching program?) I refused to wait until my appointment to start on this weight loss journey. Did I mention that I cut out ALL SODA?!? That crap was hard! I even watched my intake on Thanksgiving... somewhat. On Black Friday, instead of going out shopping, I went to check out Anytime Fitness and I JOINED THE GYM! I know that once the snow starts falling here I won't be running outside much, so the gym is a MUST!
The other day I stepped onto the scale and guess what...
I LOST 4.2 POUNDS!!!!
This is what I look like as of today.
Ignore the mug shot face! haha! I was trying not to smile. And can I tell you just how hard it was not to suck in for a photo?! It was literally instinct to do it!
So yesterday I had an appointment with a trainer to be evaluated. Can I tell you how nervous I was about this?! I was told to make sure I had a bite for breakfast, but not to eat for two hours before the meeting and no dairy in that time frame as well. Now I know why....
The trainer was so nice, but oh my goodness... He KICKED MY ASS! I mean in the end I had to take a breather because I got light headed. After working out with him and learning SO MUCH I had a meeting with the owner of the gym. I learned so much in those two hours that it is ridiculous! Basically...Everything that I have ever been told growing up about fitness is W-R-O-N-G!
But now that I have a better idea on what I am doing, I am SO EXCITED to get this journey going!
AND as of today my mom just bought me three sessions with a personal trainer as my Christmas gift! She has no clue how much these sessions mean to me. I am totally new to working out, so the sessions will really help me understand a lot of things better!
Do you want to know what makes this even better?
I am not doing this alone! Papa Bear is doing it with me!!! It is funny how we thought we were eating well and now that we are looking at the nutrition of it all and not just calories, we so weren't! We are well on our way to being a healthier, happier, family!
