I am so excited that I can hardly stand it!
Guys!!! We just officially finished getting all of Sydney's Christmas gifts! We are actually a little early this year! I'm sure some of you are already done also, and have maybe been done for a while. But let me explain part of why I am so excited... Last year we were literally able to get Sydney one thing. It was a tough time financially for us and we had a trip up to Wisconsin. We knew that she would get so much from everyone else that she wouldn't even notice... and sure enough she didn't. But it was just knowing that we didn't get her much was hard.
This year with my design business booming I have been able to help out more with bills around here. But mainly we use the money I make for random things like a night out of this month...Christmas presents! I am so happy to know that she will have a great Christmas this year and she will for sure be getting EXACTLY what she asked Santa for this year. She will love it!
I will also admit that I am proud of us...okay me... for not going overboard. I grew up with WAY TOO MANY gifts under the tree every year and I grew to expect it. Christmas became just about gifts to all of us, and it really shouldn't be like that. So we got her a few things she will LOVE rather than a ton of things that she will like. I did find myself remembering when I was a kid and some of the things I always got and caught myself looking for something to start like that. But I held back. Because let's face it. This little girl will already be overwhelmed when she opens all of her presents from us on Christmas Eve.
Yes, I did say Christmas Eve. This year we won't be doing the traditional Christmas morning opening at our house. Papa Bear had to work 7 to 7 on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. So we figured that we would let her open gifts from us on Christmas Eve night before bed and then on Christmas Day she can get her Santa gifts and the gifts that we will open over Skype with my family back in Georgia.
Does anyone else have a spouse that doesn't get Christmas off this year?
