We did something this week that we have never really done before. We packed up our things and went to spend a night or two somewhere. Papa Bear's brother, Rick , invited us over and we were a little skeptical at first.
What if we don't have fun? We can't leave Piggy here, will she be okay going with us? What about sleeping arrangements? Where will we sleep? Where will Baby Bear sleep? What if she doesn't sleep?
I know, it's silly. But we really haven't ever just gone anywhere to spend the night and were worried about how it would go! All of the worries were for no reason! We wen't and immediately started having a blast!
On the first day we threw all of our stuff into a room and just went outside to start having fun! Lisa ( Rick's girlfriend) had a bunch of toys that her nephews always played with and Baby Bear was in heaven! She really didn't care what we were doing, because she was having fun! We played outside for hours and then grilled out for dinner. It was so nice to just kick back, get away from the computer, and relax! After dinner we all got comfy and Baby Bear played us a little music.
Lisa let her play with her guitar and she thought this was just the coolest thing ever!We let her stay up later than normal, because we didn't know how bed time would go. We were worried that she would be scared being in a new place and that the beds were too tall for her to get down on her own. There were two full size beds for us, so we couldn't all sleep together. We decided that I would sleep with Baby Bear and Papa Bear would sleep on his own. I learned something about Baby Bear that night... She is the WORST bed buddy ever! I maybe got two or three hours of sleep. Between the kung fu moves and the constantly pushing me over, I now understand why her toys are in the floor every morning.
The next day everyone, but Baby Bear woke up a little sleepy. We had a late breakfast and then went back outdoors. We spent most of our time outside.

Baby Bear attempted to ride the lawn mower with Lisa and lasted all of ten seconds.
Piggy rode the 4-wheeler with me! I was so nervous that she would jump off after a bird or squirrel, but she was amazing. She actually acted like she would have loved for me to keep going, but I was ready to stop. We had a good day and it ended with alot more sleep than the day before. Baby Bear napped on her own and did fine, so we decided she would sleep on her own that night. She did great and Mommy and Daddy got way more sleep!
We had a great time, but were happy to be home by the end of the little trip. After coming home we did a little yard work...

and then decided to clean out the garage. Papa Bear got these two photos while we were doing it and I loved them!

Over all it was an amazing little break! I have been in front of the computer a lot over the last couple of weeks with work, and it was nice to get away and sort of detach for a while.

Sounds like the best time! I love those days that you might try something new and it just might work out!
ReplyDeleteLove it. I think the same thing when we go somewhere, lol. I can just say that I think you became more of my friend after seeing your pitt piggy! Did you see that video of the pitt bull that pulled his owner from getting hit by that train? AH-MAZING! I am a lover of pitts. Baby bear is soooo precious & look at her playing that guitar, too cute!
