Papa Bear and I went on a date last night! Okay, so obviously this wasn't our first date ever. But it was definitely our first date since we became parents. Baby Bear is over 2.5 years old... We waited until Baby Bear went to bed and we got ready and walked out the door.
We live super close to town so we left the car behind and just went for a little stroll to town.
We stopped by a little place on the corner (that we have been wanting to see the inside of) and we had a drink. Then we walked to the movie theater in town.
We went to see this movie:
We love Tim Burton films and it was a pretty good movie.
It was so funny because we walked in and we were literally the ONLY two people in the theater to watch the movie! It was kind of perfect because we were a little worried something would happen at home so we were able to turn our phones up just in case Grandma had to call us.
We watched the movie in peace and had a good time! We used to love going to the movies, and we will definitely be going back!
After the movie was over we walked home and I was happy to see that nothing seemed to have gone wrong! Everyone was asleep and the house was quiet. Grandma had the monitor in her room just in case Baby Bear woke up wanting us while we were gone and I snuck in there to grab it (yes, we still use a monitor just in case. Don't judge me!!) and then we went to bed.
It simply an amazing night and we got to have some much needed time alone! Plus, we did something we have been wanting to try for a long time... We actually left Baby Bear at home and just went out, just the two of us!
It was an amazing experience and the thought of going on another date with the man I love makes me smile!

ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's been 2.5 years since you two have been out together alone - girl!!! Now that you've done it once, it will get easier. You should try to make it a monthly thing if that's possible (something I aim for but doesn't always happen). Oh, and no judgment here, I fully expect we will have a monitor on our babies til they're 18 ; )
