One of my fondest summertime memories of growing up would have to be laying out in the sun with my mom. It was something that we did all the time from a very small age up until the time that I moved out of her house as an adult.
There is still just something about laying out in the sun that feels amazing to me. I love just laying there in the heat and relaxing while I usually have a cold drink close by and music playing. When S was younger and definitely took a nap every day laying out was my me time. I would put her down and throw on my swimsuit and head outside with the monitor.
Now it's almost a family affair. I will do with her what my mom did with me when I was young, only she is wearing sunscreen when I am just hoping to soak in as much as I can. I love to see her sitting in the sun chair with her swimsuit and her sunnies on just relaxing.
Now days if it is sunny and warm outside you can bet that kiddo and I are out there. We may not always be in our swimsuits, but we are almost always in or near our sun chairs. There is just something about being out there and getting a tan that makes my heart happy.
Even Papa Bear has said that when I am out there with my sunglasses on and the music going I am most in my element. I must say that I definitely agree. So now let's just hope that this week of rain we are supposed to have ends soon so that Baby Bear and I can go out and enjoy ourselves.
