A week or so ago Papa Bear and I realized that the time had finally come for Baby Bear to go and have her first haircut. She has beautiful hair, but the ends were in need of a desperate trim. So when we talked about it we decided that we wanted it to be something fun for her! Not at all scary. I looked online and found a nearby children's salon. From there we planned a day for our princess!
Yesterday she woke up so excited because she knew that she was going to have special treatment. She burst into our room and said "It's TODAY! I can go get my hair cut!" So we had breakfast and made her patiently wait while we got ready. When it was finally time we piled into the car and this was how our little princess was feeling.
We arrived at our destination a little early so we let her walk around and play in the toy store for a little while.
The place that we took her was a childrens salon called Scoops. They do hair, manicures, and pedicures. We took her in for a haircut and her first manicure. Everything is ice cream themed. If you have ever met my little girl you know just how excited this made her. She got to pick out the flavors for her manicure and then it was time to go sit in the chair.
She was such a big girl and sat there the way we asked her to. We were more nervous than she was, and that nervousness went away when we saw how well the stylist was listening to us. We wanted her hair trimmed and layered so that it looked like before, but healthier. Her hair kind of grew in with a layered look and that was something we always loved about it. It came out really well, just a little shorter and we were all happy.
Once her hair was done it was time for what she was really excited for! She was getting her first manicure! Mommy paints her nails all the time, but we all know a manicure is way better! When you are getting a mani/pedi you get a little crown (that you keep) and you get to wear a Scoops robe.
It was seriously one of the cutest little things I have ever seen. I know how much she enjoys it now, so we will definitely do Mommy & Me visits and get our nails done together. But that wasn't even the end of it! When you are done you apparently actually get ice cream! There was no way we could deprive her of that so the little punk had ice cream before we even went and had lunch. So if you live in the area and have a little girl that you want to have a fun experience with her hair and nails this is definitely the place to go!
Our day wasn't over yet! Not by a long shot...
Once we were done eating ice cream at the salon we walked over to enjoy some yummy sushi. And yes I mean we all ate some!
That was the caterpillar roll. Those of you who love sushi as much as I do know that in the inside of a caterpillar roll there is eel. Baby Bear ate that right out of the middle WITH the chopsticks! She did mainly eat our miso soup though, but I was so impressed that she tried the sushi!
After lunch we wanted to make one more stop before heading home.
By the time we were done at the zoo she was utterly exhausted. So she passed out in the car. Then we got home and realized that we hadn't pulled anything out for dinner. So kiddo got to ride her bike down to A&W and have a nice dinner outside. It was a great experience because it was the first time she ever rode her bike somewhere like that. Afterwards we just spent some time outside with Piggy. She needed to play a little since we had been gone all day. Let's just say she got a major workout while we played.
She did get that stick a couple of moments later! It always amazes me at how well she jumps like that. We put stuff up high all the time and she usually gets it.
So, yesterday was a really full day! Now today we plan on hanging out outside and not doing a whole lot of anything. Sounds perfect right?
