Meet Ashlea!!!

4.06.2012

I am so excited to show you this guest post! Please welcome Ashlea from over at How Sweet It Is while she takes over the blog today! I love this girl!

I would love to thank Miss Tiffany for letting me guest post while she is working on a big move. I could not imagine moving hours away, let alone with a busy toddler.

Me and the Mr. used to take all kinds of weekend road trips. We were both lucky enough to have weekends off so we usually set out for some kind of mini road trip, whether it was to portland, seattle or even all the way down to California to visit his brother. We have friends in all of our surrounding states so we made sure to take advatage of the free lodging! We continued our adventures up until I was very very pregnant and took our oldest on some of our little road trips also. It eventually dwindled and now we rarely ever go out of town. Its a production just to leave the house now a days. We need snacks, toys, medicine, diapers, the whole sha-bang. I over pack, I obsess for days about what to bring and I pack for literally ever seasons because you never know.

We had rules when we hit the road with the kids and still do. Im guessing a lot of parents do the same as us. 1. Must leave at either nap time or bed time.
 2. Never stop while the kids are asleep.

My oldest was the worst carseat kid in the universe, if she wasnt asleep, you better beleive that she was screaming her little behind off. That continued until we turned her facing forward and then she only screamed about half the time.
By this picture you think she would love that thing......
There is one trip that sticks out in my mind for obvious reasons. It was the end of summer and I was newly pregnant with our youngest. We had a little trip planned to Silverwood, its a fun amusment park for all ages, with a water park aswell. We went with my parents, we loaded up in the Tahoe and we were jam packed with four adults and a one year old. We thoughtperfect, just a couple hours away Raygan will sleep the entire time. We were wrong, very wrong. My mom pleaded that she needed to use the restroom about half way there. We told her our rule and pretty much said "sorry charlie, ya gotta hold it" She pleaded more and more and so we stopped about 45 mintues away from the amusment park. Sure enough our sweet baby girl woke right up and screamed, and screamed. Ear peircing, hick up screaming. We sang to her, we did all of her usual tricks, tried snacks, literally anything to make this baby happy. Grandma thought it was going to be easy. It was terrible, we had to stop and calm her down for a little while, just to put her back in the dang carseat to piss her off again. Here we go. Needless to say we rarely ever go on roadtrips anymore.

I hope Tiffany has a greater experience with her big move then we did on our 2 hour get away.

Thank you so much for taking over today Ashlea! You are welcome in these parts and time!
