Say HI to Jamie!!

4.01.2012

Hi everyone! I am loving these guest posts! This morning my dear friend Jamie from Life Illustrated is taking over! Enjoy!!!

Hi Momma Bear reader's! I'm Jamie over at Life Illustrated I have the pleasure of writing a post for the lovely Tiffany as she moves her adorable family to a different state to start a new chapter. I know this feeling all too well... well minus moving to a different state :). I thought this would be a perfect post since my family just moved recently into a new house.

A little background to my life, hubby and I have been together for 9 years, 3 of those years have been as a married couple. J {the hubs} bought his first home when he was 21 in 2003. We had just started dating; I was 18 still living at home. As our relationship grew stronger and we knew that we were soul mates and going to be in this till the end I decided to pack up and instead of living rent free at the parent's house I was going to be a big girl and move in with him 3 years later. Now how about I fast-forward to June 3, 2010 we welcomed our first daughter Mckenzie and couldn't be happier. As MK {McKenzie} got bigger it came with more toys and more crap.

April 2011 we decided on a whim to put the house up for sale by owner. We wanted needed a bigger house for all the crap toys we were accumulating. Our house was just at 1000 sq ft, 3 bedroom 2 full baths. We were crammed. 1 month on the market for sale by owner we had a few people interested but nothing serious. May 2011 we listed with an agent, one month later {June} we had a contract and we were to be out by July. Holy hell...say what? Really that happened quickly. How am I supposed to pack this house with a 10 month old? I packed a little at a time and started packing the day we got a contract. We decided to rent a POD the weekend we were moving out so we could make the move over a few days. That was a blessing, not stressful at all and we were able to take our time and enjoy the last few days in our first home that we had so many amazing memories in.

We were so sad to leave the house but so excited for our next chapter in a new house. We found a house and closed on both homes the same day. However we decided once we got the keys to our new house to go ahead and gut the house, get a new kitchen, new bathrooms, paint every room, paint the entire OUTSIDE of the house, new gutters, soffits, fascia boards and just recently start to finish the basement. We didn't move in till 3.5 months later and I'm now enjoying the spaciousness of this house and all the new memories we are creating.

Come on over check my blog out, become a follower and follow my daily life as a SAHM and of course all the before and after of the new house :)
