For the past couple of months my daughter has been baby obsessed. I know you thought this would be all about me right??? She will grab a doll and a blanket, bring it to me, and ask me to wrap up her baby. This is a constant thing, I will hear her playing in her room and sometimes she will tuck her baby in, sing her a lullaby, or asking if she is hungry.
Now as a momma with a SEVERE case of baby craze, I can't help but to think that this means that she needs a sibling. Would she be like this with a real baby? Or would she be incredibly jealous and resent me for forever? Yes I really worry about this! I want to have another baby, but I feel like I am being so selfish! Is this normal? Is it normal to be confused about whether you do or don't want to add another member to your family? Or am I just a big cry baby?

I always knew I wanted two children. And I wanted them close bc my sister and I are only 18 months apart. My boys are 26 months apart. I think baby bear would make an awesome big sister ;)
ReplyDeleteI have thought the same things. and we're still on the one and done train. but sometimes i think i am doing a disservice to my son by not having another. weird.

ReplyDeleteHave another baby so I can live through you?? she wont resent you at all... Do you resent your mama for having siblings?? we all go through that - I even wonder about Eli with it even though hes always asking for a baby sister!! just know, she will act out to get attention in the future if you decide to have another baby because she will no longer b your 1 & only and your attention will shift to the baby because he/she will need more attention as a new born than your baby girl now!!

I feel exactly the same way. We had a whoopsie and it was a long two week wait! I just kept thinking that I don't know how to be someone elses mom!!! I am Evie's mom!
ReplyDeleteIt's totally normal to think those things... and I can tell you from experience, Baby Bear is probably at a GREAT age from here on out based on her "maternal" behaviors already - she would be super helpful and would want to be involved in caring for the baby. It would be a win-win; she would feel useful and important and you'd have an extra set of helping hands ; ) You know me...I'm a baby pusher, lol!
