Christmas Festivities

12.18.2011

As some of you already know we are traveling  for Christmas. We leave in 4 short days. But we are going to my Mom's house today to have our Christmas party with her today.  This is the first year that I have ever been out of state for the holidays and we wanted to do Christmas as a family before Christmas, because it's just not the same after the holidays.
I'm excited about going today for many reasons. Of course I am excited to see my family and celebrate Christmas.   Baby Bear  will be happy to see everyone and is just dying to open some presents! I'm also excited about going to my home town and playing around today. I grew up in a small town in the North Georgia mountains and I hated living there growing up. But now I love to visit there. I don't know why but it's just different now that I'm older and I have my own family. The funny thing is that my mom lived there when she was a teenager. Then she moved us there when I was in the 2nd grade. Growing up I never really understood why. But now I guess I do.  Our family party isn't until 4:30 but because of what happened yesterday (I'll explain in a minute) we are leaving after  Baby Bear's nap and lunch and will just find some stuff to do along the way. Maybe that will mean playing in Dahlonega for a bit!
Now to get back to what happened yesterday. We had an errand that we REALLY NEEDED to run yesterday in order to do something today. Well we live close to three malls and fairly close to Atlanta. We needed to drive to a location an hour away from where we live just to do our errand. Traffic was CRAZY yesterday. We were in the car driving (or trying to) for almost an hour and a half and we literally never made it out of the town that we live in. It was absolutely rediculous! So today we may be leaving a bit earlier than necessary just in case! I'll try to get lots of pictures today so that I can post them on my blog and on  Baby Bear 's blog. Also. Look for changes to both of these blogs after the New years. Mine will be just a few tweaks. But hers is getting a complete remodel!
