A couple of months ago I wrote about yet another attempt at Potty Training with Baby Bear. She is a little over 26 months old and she absolutely REFUSES to try to use the potty!
I have tried so many things! I have tried making it fun for her by singing a song when she is sitting on the potty. I have tried making a potty chart that we put stickers on when she uses the big girl potty, I have even tried giving her a big surprise( marshmallows or candy) when she goes in the potty. Each time it worked for a day or two, then she just stops completely! The thing is that she knows what the potty is and what to do in it, she just won't do it. I know that she is still young . Papa Bear and I would just love to stop having to buy diapers and let her wear her big girl undies.
I'm at a loss for what to try next. So if you have ANY tips then feel free to leave me a comment!
Love your blog and your daughter is SO adorable! Looking forward to following...oh, and I don't know a thing about potty training since my LO is only 9 1/2 months old, but my friends SWEAR BY M&Ms. You said you tried candy, so maybe you've already tried them. Good Luck!!

ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to potty training, I don't think she will do it until SHE is ready, she is a punk that way...

ReplyDeleteI wish I had more tips for you. My little guy is only 21 months old, but has been interested in using the potty for probably 6 months or so. I wish I had some tips for you, but I don't! He's no where near trained, but he definitely has the ability and control to 'go' when he wants to. I do find the same thing as you- that he'll do really well for a couple of days and then get kind of sick of it for a couple of days... no rush, I guess. I'm sure neither will go to kindergarten in diapers!
