Adventures of the Big Girl Potty

1.25.2012

I have mentioned a few times before that we have attempted potty training several times with Baby Bear. Obviously all of them have been failed attempts! I do have something to show you though!
Do you see this? My little girl is sitting on the big girl potty and smiling! Yes that is a smile! We have been slowly asking her if she wanted to go and she has occasionally said yes. a few days ago we asked her if she wanted to go potty and she went twice that day. We were so proud. Then her Daddy told her that she made him so happy! That was apparently what made it all worth it. We give her a marshmallow every time she goes, do a happy dance, say bye-bye to whatever she did as she flushes it, and she gets a sticker on her board. It is so funny to me that the one thing that makes her want to go is making her Daddy happy or proud.
In the last two days she has gotten like nine or ten stickers. One or two of those stickers are even for going number two. Then on some of the accidents she actually told me she was sorry and actually seemed to get that it wasn't something that was supposed to happen. I would sit her on the potty and we would go from there.
She is nowhere near potty trained, but I think she is doing amazingly. She even came to me twice yesterday and said that she wanted to go big girl potty. This was huge to me! I can not begin to tell you just how proud I am of my baby girl. She he is doing so well and now attempting to do it on her own.

  1. OMG She looks too cute on that potty! Love it! She is doing great! It will totally come, since I have boys I am not sure what the trick to girls is, but Vincent did really well with wearing no diapers or anything for a week or so...it worked like a charm!
