Inconsiderate

1.08.2012

Okay, so I don't want to sound like an old fart in this post but  I just have to share last nights aggravation with you.
If you follow me on twitter you saw that last night I had to call the cops. We noticed before I put S to bed that we were hearing music. I honestly wasn't paying much attention to it at this point because I kinda thought it was just a car driving by. The Hubby said that he had been hearing it for a while (shows how much I pay attention to my surroundings right?) and it just doesn't stop. Keep in mind that I am hearing this music in my living room over the volume of my tv and the house is like 6 or 7 houses away.We wait a couple of hours wondering if it will stop and hoping it doesn't wake up S. At nearly 10:00 I have had enough, So I call the cops and make a noise complaint. Two police cars show up less than five minutes later. They are out there for like five minutes and then they pull off. The whole time the music doesn't change at all. We sit here a while longer thinking it will change soon (we are normally asleep by this point) and it doesn't. So I call the police department back and just ask if I can find out what was said or what is going on. It turns out that there was a wedding reception going on in the house and they were advised of the noise hours. By the way... What are the noise hours where you live? Because apparently here it is midnight! Which I think is rediculous! So we stayed up later until we eventually just couldn't stay awake anymore.
I can understand that they weren't doing anything illegal but it's just inconsiderate. A lot of people who work Sundays or have small children live in this neighborhood and I'm sure they could all hear it just as well as we could. They should be able to have music. I just think they should have turned it down a little when they found out that there was a noise complaint. Instead I think they may have even turned it up.
I know this is supposed to be an internet free weekend but the Hubby is in bed and I had to share! I hope you are all having an amazing weekend! I'll do my planed "catch up" post on Monday morning to let you know how ours is going!

  1. I think our noise restrictions are 11 pm maybe 10 pm. But we have a pretty strict home association in our current neighborhood. And I agree, they should've still turned it down after 10 pm or the warning! Inconsiderate for sure!
