If She Doesn't Want To

1.04.2012

Well while me were on vacation my sweet little girl learned something new. She had started to do this before we went away, but while we were at Grandma's she really mastered it!
She has learned to open doors! I didn't think it was a huge deal while we were there because they were different (way easier) doors to open. I figured it would still be a while before she mastered it at home. Well, I was wrong! The very next night after we got home I put her down for bed. I go sit on the couch and start to wind down and relax with my hubby. Then all of a sudden I hear a "click"  so I go and look towards Baby Bear's room and there she stands in her pajamas smiling at me. She knows that she has done something good big for her. She hasn't really been able to do that at home. Well I look at her and take her back to bed. We do this off and on for a little bit (almost an hour) until she finally goes back to sleep. It's not completely her fault though. We were in a different time zone for over a week so she got used to going to bed much later than what she wasused to before we went on vacation. Then when we came home I tried to let her go to bed later, just not as late. So I think she had to adjust. This went on for a couple of nights. I think my little punk sweetie has learned that if she doesn't want to go to bed she can just get right up and let us know.
She did this for a couple of nights. That and waking up through the night because we shared a room for over a week and she got used to having our bed next to hers. I am happy to report now that things are going back to normal. As of yesterday she napped without any issues and then she slept through the night(aside from a nightmare early on) and while I am about to finish posting a blog entry and pouring my second cup of coffee she is still snoozing away. I think I could get used to having a little alone time in the mornings!

  1. yay for her opening doors! I remember a little boy I used to nanny for learned to open a door and then the next day that was the ONLY thing he would do. That was a lot of fun...haha
