Have you seen this cute little girl?
see isn't she just the cutest thing?
Well this little cutie has a secret. She is the pickiest eater ever!
I mean really. She is almost 28 months old and she is still tiny! At her 2 year check-up she was a whopping 21 lbs (keep in mind she was only like 4.5 lbs when she was born). She is perfectly healthy, just small. I hear about all of these kids who eat all the time and crazy amounts. This just isn't her. I have always said that she eats like a bird because she eats the amount that I feel like a one year old might eat. Not does she eat tiny amounts, but she is pretty darn picky about what she eats too! She will love something one day and the next day decide that she doesn't like that very same thing.
I have found something that works though She actually eats better if I give her bits of whatever I'm making for dinner while it's cooking. Then she will eat a little while we are eating too. She has also decided that she isn't super crazy about her highchair now. If it isn't at the tale (because me normally eat in our living room) she will eat less unless you have her out of the highchair. But we have recently started eating at the table more often and she has started eating a little easier.
The child does always seem to love the following things though:
Cheese
Pasta
Peanut Butter Sandwhiches
Cheerios
Chicken
Salad
Black olives
Pickles
I know that's not too bad right? Its just that we can't always feed her those few items that she loves. We are starting to slowly get her to eat more and more in quantity and try new things.
for example yesterday she tried this rasberry almond vinagerette dressing that C picked up at the store and she absolutely loved in on her salad and even her chicken. She even picked up the bowl and tried to drink the excess dressing. I love getting her to try new things and hope that as she grows she will love more and more!
I am so not complaining in this post, I was just wondering if my child is the only picky eater.
I bet she isn't!
What are your child's favorite foods?

I'm a picky eater so I'm trying to avoid that with my twins. Right now, they hate cheese, but I keep giving it to them every day in hopes that one day it will click and they'll like it.
ReplyDeleteReally you think she is worse than my your SISTER? I mean My mother-in-law told my husband that she wouldn't cook for me anymore cause she could find anything I liked. This was when we first got together.
